Overview: Cortney is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who has a passion for empowering children to be their most independent and confident selves. She enjoys disseminating the science of behavior analysis and supporting staff in their journeys within the field. 

Education: Cortney was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. She moved to San Diego to pursue her undergraduate degree at San Diego State University in Multidisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Psychology, Child Development, and American Indian Studies. This diverse academic background laid the groundwork for understanding the complexities of behavior science, the intricacies of developmental milestones, and the richness of cultural diversity. Cortney went on to achieve a Master's degree in Psychology, specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis from Capella University.

Experience: Cortney has been in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis for 8 years, starting during her undergraduate years providing community-based services for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Her true passion for making a positive impact on the lives of children and families led her to transition to in-home and clinic-based ABA services after completing her undergraduate studies. In 2021, she became a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and continued her journey, providing services in Utah and San Diego. Cortney's experience extends beyond direct services, as she has also led mentorship programs for individuals pursuing certification in Applied Behavior Analysis and developed social skills groups for children, fostering an inclusive environment where they can thrive.

Hobbies & Skills: Beyond her professional endeavors, Cortney leads an active and social lifestyle. She embraces the beauty of San Diego on the daily by enjoying leisurely walks on the beach, trying new coffee shops and restaurants and exploring all that the city has to offer. Quality time with friends, traveling, and indoor cycling classes are where you can find her in her free time.
