Hanna Kim, BCBA

Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Overview: Hanna is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She specializes in ASD and holds a strong interest in speech/language development. Her interest in behavior analysis grew when she first started to work as a behavior technician in 2007 while also studying to become a speech therapist. She learned how the tools of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) helped improve not only one's behavior but also communication, socialization, and academic skills. Since then, Hanna has never left the field of ABA and has been working to improve the quality of life of individuals with special needs and their families.

Education: Hanna received her bachelor’s degree in Linguistics from University of California, Berkeley. After graduating, Hanna returned to San Diego and immediately started working as a behavior technician in the field of ABA. She then received her Master’s Degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis.

Experience: While in Berkeley, CA for her undergrad Hanna volunteered working as an after school tutor for children with learning disabilities. This was the beginning of her journey working with the special needs community. After graduating, she returned to San Diego where she began to work as a behavior technician implementing ABA to children with ASD and other developmental disabilities. Hanna temporarily moved to Dallas, Texas with her husband where she became a BCBA in 2013 and worked with a wide range of age groups from toddlers to adults in the settings of in-home, school, community, clinic and residential facilities. During this time, she also worked as a clinical advisor to a company in South Korea. With little to no in-home ABA services in Korea, Hanna helped the company develop their programs and provided supervision to staff. In 2018, Hanna returned to San Diego, CA and continued to work as a BCBA where her recent years have been focused on Registered Behavior Technician training and staff management.

Hobbies & Skills: Hanna enjoys spending her downtime being creative by either crocheting stuffed animals, scrapbooking, or making personalized items in her craft room. She also loves traveling around the world visiting different countries to mainly expand her culinary experience.

Why ClubXcite? Hanna joined Club Xcite because she had a great experience working at their sister company Xcite Steps. She felt the company provided the best work environment and valued their staff and students. She was excited to learn that Club Xcite provided support in the academic setting and is honored to be part of the team.
