Wendell Maupin

 

Staff Relations & Operations Manager

 

Overview: Wendell Maupin is the Staff Relations & Operations Manager for Club Xcite. He’s always been passionate about building connections and solving problems, which opened the door for him to work in education. He loves to learn more about people, so feel free to throw some time on his calendar to ask questions or just to chat–he’d love to hear from you! 

Education: Wendell attended the University of Kentucky, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in English and minored in Communication. While teaching, he completed his Master’s degree focused on Elementary Education from the University of the Cumberlands, and eventually chose to study Special Education as well. He has recently decided to pursue his MBA at the University of the Cumberlands, with concentrations in Strategic Management and Project Management.

Experience: After beginning his career in education teaching High School English, Wendell made the move to teaching 5th Grade ELA. He eventually landed in Elementary Special Education, leading a specialized Day Treatment program that blended therapy and academics. Since moving to California, he has transitioned out of the classroom and into People and Operations endeavors. He is excited he gets to help Club Xcite work towards their mission of supporting students and families with academic, social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. 

Hobbies & Skills: Wendell enjoys playing basketball, watching movies and sports, and spending time with friends. He likes to stay creative, and appreciates all kinds of art. Wendell’s also an avid traveler, and is always looking for his next adventure!
