Program Manager of the Behavior Aide Program

 

Overview: Adelynn is the Program Manager of the Behavior Aide Program at Club Xcite. She has always had a passion for working with people who have special needs. This passion started when she was a peer tutor in elementary school in the special day class, then volunteering with Best Buddies and the Special Olympics. Her love for the field of special education sprouted into behavior management and emotional de-escalation strategies. 

Education: Adelynn did her undergrad at San Diego State University and graduated with her Bachelors in Liberal Studies. She then went on to get her Masters Degree in Special Education from Point Loma Nazarene University. While at PLNU, she got her teacher credentials in Multiple Subjects, Mild/Moderate Special Education and Moderate/Severe Special Education. It is a goal of hers to eventually get a PHD in Autism Behavioral Studies.

Experience: Adelynn started her educational career experience as a behavioral aide for 2 years while getting her teaching credentials. Once she obtained her credentials, she worked as a Moderate/Severe Education Specialist for 3.5 years. At this time, she sat on the Grade Level Leaders team as the special education representative. She was also the behavior specialist and resource specialist at her former school.
